Upper West pilot

Our first field test, in a district where one extension officer serves thousands of farmers.

In Nadowli district, one agricultural extension officer serves an average of 5,633 farmers. No one can visit every plot before the rains, which is where a phone message can help.

The pilot will test two things we do not yet know: whether farmers trust a voice message over the advice of community elders, and how many drop off on USSD compared with voice.
